About us

Established in 2013 OPEN MINDS Productions is principally based on ancient treatise of performing arts called “Natya Shastra”. A unique and holistic approach to learning the fundamentals of all aspects of dramatics or Natya.

We strive to empower our students to discover their strengths through drama  focusing on personality development, command on English, clear diction and positive body language, team building as well as leadership skills.

Our year long school programmes focus on building life skills in a child apart from the obvious benefits of learning theatre. We offer a number of short and long term courses in creative writing, script writing and acting at degree colleges as well. Our acting workshops for working professionals is one of the most loved course.

Founder and Director of OPEN MINDS Productions, Tejaswini Patwardhan has been in this field for fifteen years. She has been mentored by Samar Nakhate, (Former Dean FTII). She follows the principles of Natyashastra, an ancient Sanskrit treatise on dramatics. In recent years she has been developing courses for schools and degree colleges. She is passionate about theatre, films and all things drama.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION

Masters in Mass Communication from Pune University in 2002 (Garnered first position at All India Level), Graduated with distinction in English Literature from Pune University in 2000

EXPERTISE

From script writing and directing to acting and teaching dramatics, she has been exploring various facets of theatre over the years. She enjoys interaction with students of all age groups and conducts regular summer camps. Her team is invited to various events where they perform their plays related to social issues, which are very well received.

AFFILIATIONS

OPEN MINDS Productions is affiliated with a leading IB school as well as graduate and post graduate colleges in Mumbai and Pune. She has also developed Certificate Courses for UG and PG for MIT University, Pune and University of Mysore. She has conducted these courses as well. Tejaswini also undertakes projects involving writing and direction of annual concert plays

ASSOCIATIONS

Open Minds Productions (OMP) works with NGOs towards brining awareness and sensitizing people about socially relevant subjects. OPEN MINDS Productions has been event partner with Rotary Powai in Powai Fest, a cultural festival since its inception in 2013. Training children, young adults and working professionals in street theatre has been our prime focus. OMP has also been associated with Equal Streets, an initiative of Times of India group.  It has also been an honour to be invited at Kala Ghoda Art Festival to conduct workshops and to perform our plays as well.

BEHIND THE SCENES

A voracious reader and someone who closely follows world cinema, she can be found immersed in her books, sipping on strong coffee and enjoys conversations on politics. A dedicated mom, she loves cooking healthy meals for her family.
