About OMP

a.k.a OPEN MINDS Productions

Established in 2013 OPEN MINDS Productions is principally based on ancient treatise of performing arts called “Natya Shastra”. A unique and holistic approach to learning the fundamentals of all aspects of dramatics or Natya.

We strive to empower our students to discover their strengths through drama  focusing on personality development, command on English, clear diction and positive body language, team building as well as leadership skills.

Our year long school programs focus on building life skills in a child apart from the obvious benefits of learning theatre. We offer a number of short and long term courses in creative writing, script writing and acting at degree colleges as well. Our acting workshops for working professionals is one of the most loved course.

  • Dr Sapna Singh Bagchi
My son Agastya, daughter Soumya and I, Dr Sapna Bagchi began our journey with Open Minds Production in the year 2015. The last three years have been filled with numerous interactions with Tejaswini, the founder of Open Minds. Open Minds Productions has been a pioneer in conducting street plays in Powai. It is ably guided by its founder Tejaswini. Tejaswini has worked extensively in the field of media scripting, directing and acting in plays, serials etc. Open Minds provides a platform to both children and adults to showcase their talent. It trains, guides and brings out the best from its actors. Tejaswini herself is a very good teacher and guide. I wish many more years of success to Open Minds Productions.
  • Dr. Julie Shastri
It has been over 4 years that our sons Sanay and Vivaan have been associated with OPEN MINDS Productions. In this journey he got a chance to perform at a national conference as well. The uniqueness and freshness of each perfomance brings about a visible change in his personality. He has become fearless and confident with each passing year. Each of the issues addressed in the plays have instilled a sense of sensitivity in his mind towards social causes. He eagerly waits for his new sessions to begin every year.
  • Chinmayi Kulkarni - Team member and Dramatics Mentor
I must say that the name - OPEN MINDS Productions itself tells you about their work. It really opens your mind and forces you to THINK. And with their OPEN MIND they welcome you and teach you and give you a new thought process. OPEN MINDS PRODUCTIONS gave me an opportunity to perform with them and relive my childhood passion for acting. I further got a chance to join this institution as a drama teacher, and enjoy my second career.
  • By Ditipriya Acharya - TYBMM, S.M.Shetty College
The Scriptwriting workshop conducted by Tejaswini ma’am helped me not only to understand the structure and symbolism used while writing scripts but also to develop my own ideas. The workshop was engaging as we learned through practical application and numerous examples.
  • Kalpana Rai Menon: HOD - Department of Mass Media and Communication Skills, SM Shetty College Powai Mumbai
The scriptwriting workshop by Ms Tejaswini Patwardhan of Open minds Productions was a very methodical and practical learning experience for the students of mass media at SM Shetty College, Powai, Mumbai.
  • Anamika Sharma - Middle School, IB CAS Coordinator at SM Shetty International School
Our school had been affiliated to OPEN MINDS Productions for two years. Our students participation in this program improved their creative writing, expression and confidence. I highly recommend this course as an educationist.
  • Ausaaf Kherani - TYBMM student, S.M.Shetty College
The Open Minds Production workshop was a brilliant experience. Tejaswini ma'am was very warm towards the students, always answering questions and helping the student. Her friendly persona along with the passion for films and writing, made the workshop more comfortable and relatable to us. Also the deep knowledge imparted to the students about colours, dialogues and characters in film and drama, referencing recent pop culture examples made more interesting and fun for the students. It really helped all of us and we will be looking forward to be a part of more such workshops!
